The value of Iranian pharmaceutical exports to Russia last year was about US$7,5 million

Deputy Health Minister Mohammad-Hossein Niknam and his Russian counterpart Sergey Glagolev held a meeting in Tehran. The two sides discussed opportunities for strengthening co-operation in the field of health care. This is reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

They emphasised cooperation in research and education, medicine and medical equipment, artificial intelligence and modern technologies, particularly vaccines and pharmaceutical raw materials.

During the meeting, Niknam suggested holding joint meetings annually and periodically in the two countries, which was endorsed by Glagolev.

In addition, Tehran hosted 17th meeting of the Permanent Russia-Iran Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji. Iran and Russia signed 19 documents on expanding bilateral co-operation in various sectors.

They cover such areas as energy, healthcare, trade and education.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak after signing the documents, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji said the country “has so far signed contracts with Russian companies to develop eight Iranian oil fields”.

Novak told that the two countries can expand bilateral cooperation in oil, gas and petrochemical industries, car manufacturing and servicing.
