Iran approves comprehensive programme to improve digital literacy

The project aims to improve the safety and awareness of Internet users

Iran has approved a comprehensive programme aimed at promoting and improving digital literacy across the population, according to
Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The initiative sets out to launch a nationwide movement for digital literacy, targeting all segments of society. Key priorities include supporting activists and organisations in the field, as well as coordinating policy across various government departments.

The country’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has been appointed as the national coordinator and executive secretariat for the programme. It will oversee the implementation of the plan and the achievement of its goals, working in collaboration with Iran’s National Cyberspace Centre.

The programme also includes the creation and dissemination of high-quality content, educational initiatives tailored to different population groups – with particular attention to vulnerable communities – the introduction of an assessment system, and the development of modern educational and informational platforms.
