Iran delivers 700,000 doses of BCG vaccine to Venezuela

This is part of the countries’ joint health initiative

Venezuela has received a batch of 700,000 doses of Iranian BCG vaccine against tuberculosis. It will be used to expand the childhood immunisation programme, reports
Pars Today, a partner of TV BRICS.

It is specified that the consignment was handed over to Venezuelan authorities at the Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas.

Venezuela’s Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jimenez expressed gratitude to Iran and said the vaccines will soon be distributed to hospitals and health centres in the country.

The Health Ministry stressed the importance of cooperation between Venezuela and Iran. It noted that the supply of vaccines is part of a Tehran-Caracas project launched in 2022. It also includes exchange of experience and joint research.
