Iranian engineers are expanding domestic automotive capabilities with a new generation of locally developed engine control units (ECUs), as reported by Mehr News Agency, a TV BRICS partner. The electronic systems, which manage key engine functions, are already being used in several domestically manufactured vehicle models.
Engineers combined modern microcontrollers, advanced software solutions and precise calibration technologies to create systems designed to improve engine performance and optimise fuel use.
Engine control units act as the electronic “brains” of vehicles, regulating engine operations to ensure efficient combustion, stable performance and lower emissions. The new technology reflects the growing capabilities of Iran’s automotive sector in hardware development, embedded software, calibration and mass production.
The introduction of locally produced ECUs has both industrial and environmental significance. More efficient engine management helps reduce fuel consumption and contributes to cleaner exhaust emissions.
