Iran presents 15 developments in field of nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals in 2023

The country is among the top three leaders in this field

Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), announced the registration of 15 new developments in the field of nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals last year (20 March 2023 – 19 March 2024 local calendar), as reported by
Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

At a press conference in Tehran, Eslami revealed that the AEOI is emphasising the use of Iranian equipment. He revealed plans to open 50 clinics across the country that use plasma therapy to treat wounds, and added that Iranian scientists have created a homegrown machine to fight breast cancer.

Iran continues to be among the world’s top three leaders in radiopharmaceutical science, Eslami added, pointing to the achievements of the republic’s specialists in treating cancer patients. The AEOI chief also announced that Iran will hold the first international conference on nuclear energy on 6 and 7 May in Isfahan.
