Iran shines at Asian Junior Wushu Championships in China



Overall, Iran ranked fourth in the combined sanda and taolu categories, with a total of 22 medals

Iranian athletes had an outstanding participation in the 12th Asian Junior Wushu Championships held from 26-30 July in Jiangyin, China.

According to Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS, the Iranian sanda team emerged as the standout performer, claiming a total of nine medals, including seven golds, one silver, and one bronze, surpassing host nation China in this discipline. 

In the taolu category, the Iranian team also performed strongly, winning 13 medals: two gold, five silver, and six bronze. Several other athletes earned medals in the daoshu and team events. The junior fencing team won silver as well.

Overall, Iran ranked fourth in the combined sanda and taolu categories, with a total of 22 medals, nine gold, six silver, and seven bronze. China topped the medal table with 17 golds and 19 total medals, followed by Indonesia (12 golds, 30 medals).
