
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization has confirmed that plans for the construction of eight new nuclear power plants with Russian cooperation remain on the agenda, reports

During a meeting with the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, head of the organization Mohammad Eslami outlined the country’s recent nuclear achievements.
He reported that around 500 scientific and technological breakthroughs have been made between 2022 and 2024, many of which have directly benefited citizens and the national economy.
Eslami also detailed the protocol with Russia for the eight nuclear power plants. Currently, one facility is operational, two are under construction, and five more are planned in Hormozgan Province, with a combined capacity of 5,000 megawatts.
