Iran to launch 2,400 agricultural projects nationwide

Iran’s Minister of Agriculture, Gholamreza Nouri, has announced that 2,400 agricultural projects across 14 sub-sectors will be inaugurated nationwide during Government Week, which runs from 24 to 30 August. 

The total investment allocated for these projects stands at US$6.4 billion, and their launch is expected to generate over 97,000 direct and indirect jobs, reported

The highest number of projects will be in the sub-sectors of water and soil (989 projects), horticulture (334 projects), and livestock and poultry (240 projects). In terms of funding, the top allocations are for agricultural industries with around US$290 million, followed by livestock and poultry at US$186 million, and horticulture at US$153 million.

On a provincial level, Sistan and Baluchestan will see the most project openings (263), followed by Khorasan Razavi (207) and Isfahan (124). The highest spending is reported in Hormozgan Province, East Azerbaijan, and Gilan.
