Iranian students sweep gold at world astronomy olympiad in India

Iran has secured first place at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) for the second consecutive year, with its students achieving a clean sweep of gold medals. This is reported by 
Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The five-member team: Hossein Soltani, Hirbod Foadazi, Hossein Masoumi, Arshia Mirshamsi Kakhki, and Ali Naderi Lordejani, each won gold at the 17th edition of the competition, held this year in Mumbai, India. Their success crowned them champions of the 2025 World Championships.

The IOAA is an annual global competition for secondary school students, regarded as one of the most prestigious events in the field of astronomy and astrophysics.
