Tourism ties between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are expanding, supported by growing visitor numbers and improved transport connections. Last year, more than 5 million tourists from Uzbekistan visited Kazakhstan, while 2.6 million Kazakh citizens travelled to Tashkent and Bukhara. This was reported by

The two countries currently operate more than 50 regular flights per week. Over the past year, six new direct routes have been added, further improving access between the neighbouring countries.
Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, highlighted the importance of tourism for both economies. He noted that Kazakhstan is now the second-largest source of international visitors to Uzbekistan, after Kyrgyzstan.
“For both countries, this sector is one of the key drivers of the national economy. Therefore, the development and promotion of tourism remain a priority for the governments of both states,” said Bakhtiyor Ibragimov.
Experts highlighted that medical tourism is well developed in Uzbekistan. It is noted that Kazakh citizens account for 98 per cent of visitors to four leading sanatoriums.
According to the source, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan intend to expand travel routes, develop new tourism products and strengthen cooperation in medical tourism, building on the existing ties between their tourism sectors.
