Kazakhstan attracts over 80,000 medical tourists since beginning of year

Since the beginning of 2025, more than 80,000 foreign citizens have travelled to Kazakhstan for medical treatment, Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazarova said during a government briefing, as reported by
Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS.

According to the minister, the number of international patients has risen significantly compared to previous years. The greatest demand is for cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and dental services, as well as in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).

Alnazarova noted that the combination of high-quality care and affordable prices makes Kazakhstan an attractive destination for medical tourism.

Government agencies are actively working to develop the sector, taking into account the expansion of both domestic and international air routes.

The minister also announced that in October, Kazakhstan will hold Days of Kazakh Medicine in Uzbekistan. Medical specialists will visit Tashkent, Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, and Samarkand to perform complex surgeries and conduct masterclasses. Similar missions are planned in Tajikistan before the end of the year.
