In athletics, Brazilian hurdler Alison dos Santos, a world champion and Olympic medallist, recorded the fastest men’s 400m hurdles time of the 2026 season, clocking 46.48 seconds at the Brazilian Championships. Agência Brasil reported that the achievement returned dos Santos to the top of the world rankings for the season and marked the second-best result of his professional career, confirming his strong preparation for upcoming international competitions.
Vietnam, a BRICS partner country, achieved a historic milestone in volleyball, with the men’s national team winning the SEA V Cup after defeating Thailand 3–2 in the final held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS, reported that the victory was the first of its kind for the Vietnamese team in the regional tournament, surpassing its previous best results of finishing runners-up in the 2023 and 2025 editions.
