Kazakhstan forecasts GDP growth of 5.4% by 2026

Kazakhstan’s GDP is projected to grow by 5.4 per cent in 2026, according to the country’s updated socio-economic development forecast for 2026-2028. The outlook was presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin during a government meeting,
reports Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS.

The forecast, based on a baseline scenario, suggests average annual GDP growth of 5.3 per cent over the three-year period. Nominal GDP is expected to rise from 183.8 trillion tenge (US$340.6 billion) in 2026 to 229.8 trillion tenge (US$426 billion) in 2028.

Economic expansion will be supported by growth in both the real sector and services. In manufacturing, output is forecast to accelerate from 6.2 per cent in 2026 to 6.6 per cent in 2028, fuelled by investment projects. Mining is expected to post an average annual growth rate of 2.8 per cent, agriculture 3.9 per cent, construction 11.0 per cent, transport services 10.1 per cent, and trade 6.7 per cent.
