Kazakhstan’s GDP grows by 6.5% in 2025

According to preliminary data from the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan, the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.5 per cent in 2025. This growth was made possible by systematic efforts to diversify the economy carried out on the instruction of the Head of State,
Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS, reports.

The main contribution to growth came from industry, construction and transport. Industrial production increased by 7.4 per cent, with the strongest growth recorded in mechanical engineering (+12.9 per cent) and chemical industry output (+9.8 per cent). Construction rose by 15.9 per cent, with more than 20 million square metres of new housing commissioned. The transport sector showed the highest growth rate at 20.4 per cent.

Trade and agriculture also made a significant contribution. Trade expanded by almost 9 per cent, while agriculture grew by 5.9 per cent. In the information and communications sector, growth amounted to 3.6 per cent.

Positive economic dynamics were recorded in most regions of Kazakhstan, including Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent.

It is noted that the acceleration of economic growth strengthens Kazakhstan’s position on the international stage. The country has already entered the top 50 largest economies in the world and is one of the leaders in terms of average annual real GDP growth not only in Central Asia but also globally, the report notes.
