
Latin American countries are increasing their focus on the BRICS agenda and strengthening media integration with the group. Agreements on content exchange have been reached between the TV BRICS International Media Network and the TAL (Televisión América Latina) media network, which brings together public television channels across the macro-region. The cooperation agreement was signed by Janna Tolstikova, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of TV BRICS, and Nicolas Schonfeld, Executive Director of TAL. As a result, the audience reach for TV BRICS content on BRICS development and the activities of the group’s partner states have increased by more than 500 million people.
The media networks will cooperate to shape an objective international agenda and strengthen humanitarian and economic cooperation between the countries of the Global South. TV BRICS and TAL plan to broadcast and promote each other’s content and carry out joint projects in the field of mass communications.
“For the TAL network, the agreement with TV BRICS represents an excellent opportunity to strengthen South–South cooperation in the audiovisual, cultural and communications sectors, as well as to expand the presence of Latin American media on new international platforms for the exchange and distribution of content. As a union of public and cultural media organisations in Latin America, we believe that collaboration within the media network, the exchange of experience and dialogue between organisations are vital tools for bringing our societies closer together, deepening mutual understanding and promoting a diverse perspective on the world. We view this partnership as the foundation for cooperation based on mutual respect for interests, cultural identity and the opportunity to implement specific projects that will bring together the stories, audiences and organisations of Latin America and the Global South. “We are very enthusiastic about the prospects for our future work,” said Nicolas Schonfeld, Executive Director and Authorised Representative of the TAL network.
The
TAL media network is a union of public service television channels in Latin America. Founded in 2003, it brings together nearly 150 national, regional, parliamentary and university television channels and online platforms from 20 countries, with a combined audience of over 540 million people. TAL focuses on political and social issues. The network’s activities are aimed at strengthening cultural sovereignty and communication integration among Latin American countries, increasing the production of audiovisual content, and developing humanitarian ties with other regions and countries around the world.
Janna Tolstikova, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of TV BRICS, emphasised that the joining of forces between these two major media organisations demonstrates a shared commitment to common goals and editorial principles in presenting an objective picture of current affairs whilst also reflecting the integration potential of Latin America and the BRICS group.

In 2026, in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup, TV BRICS took part in the Colours of Football project organised by TAL.
In Latin America, the media network collaborates with media organisations, civil society groups and government bodies in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Chile, and Uruguay.
For example, in June 2026, the Argentine current affairs and political television channel Canal 22 Web joined the content-sharing initiative via TV BRICS.
