Made in Russia brand presented to international community at rowing regatta

During the Russian Rowing Championship, an export regatta was held, organised by the Russian Export Centre (REC), a partner of TV BRICS, under the national brand “Made in Russia”. The event brought together representatives of large and medium-sized businesses, ambassadors and delegations from more than 20 countries, the country’s top leadership and the sports community.

The highlight of the meeting was a friendly boat race, where guests formed teams and took up oars together, demonstrating the importance of synchronisation and coordination not only in sport but also in international cooperation.

REC Director General Veronika Nikishina emphasised the key role of teamwork.

“Sport is a space of trust where the chemistry of relationships is formed. It is this space of trust that shapes the desire to cooperate both in rowing and in our professional activities, in exports,” she said.

The programme also included a business breakfast, where issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed in an informal setting. Representatives of the BRICS countries and the Global South expressed particular interest in technological partnership with Russia.

Genet Teshome Jirru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Moscow, said in an exclusive commentary to TV BRICS that he sees the basis for cooperation with Russia in the field of innovation and agribusiness.

The sporting event was highly praised by the participants, for whom academic rowing has already become a tradition. Jose Manuel Vargas D’Oleo, Trade and Economic Affairs Counselor of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic, emphasised the role of sport in the development of diplomatic contacts in a conversation with the media network.

“Last year, I participated in a rowing race for the first time […] as a member of the diplomatic corps. I consider participation in such events to be extremely important. They not only provide an opportunity to establish contacts with key figures, but also allow cooperation to be taken to a new level that goes beyond social formalities. This is sport, a completely different form of interaction,” said the Counselor.

The event was supported by the updated “Made in Russia” programme, implemented under the auspices of the national project “International Cooperation and Export”. REC is a key operator of state support for exports, providing a range of services in 120 areas. To date, 21,000 items have already received the “Made in Russia” trademark.

It is this large-scale work that allows the export potential of Russian manufacturers to be revealed, according to Irina Svyatenko, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council. According to her, there are many regional brands that carry the cultural code of Russia. The REC introduces countries around the world to unique products manufactured in the most remote regions of the country.
