Malaysia and Thailand strengthen cooperation on occupational safety and health

Malaysia and Thailand have agreed to boost strategic cooperation in occupational safety and health (OSH) through the exchange of training modules, research findings, expertise, and laboratory facilities, aiming to safeguard workers’ welfare in both countries, reports
BERNAMA, a partner of TV BRICS.

The move was announced by Malaysia’s National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), following a working visit to the Thai OSH Institute (T-OSH) headquarters. Officials described discussions as highly encouraging, with both sides committing to jointly promote OSH activities through national and international exhibitions and conferences.

Both countries agreed to collaborate to enhance laboratory capabilities and research expertise, ensuring that studies address industrial needs and provide practical solutions to emerging challenges.

The initiative forms part of broader regional cooperation under Malaysia’s ASEAN chairmanship. Officials highlighted that such collaboration, supported by ASEAN frameworks, will accelerate efforts to raise workplace safety, health, and wellbeing standards across the region.
