Mikhail Mishustin and Xi Jinping assessed the results of cooperation between Russia and China
Bilateral trade between China and Russia exceeded $200 billion in 11 months
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Chinese President Xi Jinping met at the House of People’s Assemblies in Beijing.
“Good results have been achieved in the investment sphere. 80 joint projects totalling almost 20 trillion rubles or about 1.6 billion yuan are in the works,” Mishustin said.
Xi noted that he met Russian President Vladimir Putin twice during this year and emphasised that the two countries continue to have in-depth cooperation between governments, legislatures, political parties and local authorities.
In the first 11 months of 2023, bilateral trade between China and Russia exceeded 200 billion U.S. dollars, the annual target set by the two leaders. These indicators show the sustainability of economic relations and extensive prospects for mutually beneficial partnership. This is reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Xi noted that maintaining and developing China-Russia relations is a strategic choice of both sides based on the fundamental interests of the peoples.
He expressed China’s support for Russia’s chosen development path and said the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries next year will be a new starting point to further expand relations and make joint progress in comprehensively promoting economic and social development.
“Maintaining and developing China-Russia relations is a strategic choice of both countries based on the fundamental interests of our peoples,” Xi Jinping emphasised. “China supports the Russian people on their chosen path of development,” the Chinese leader said.
