In turn, Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko named five priorities for the SCO. These include multilateralism, security, sustainable development, food security, and joint development through industrial and scientific as well as technological potential.

Earlier that day, a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State was held. At the meeting, the final Tianjin Declaration was adopted and the organisation’s development strategy for the next 10 years was approved.
