The winners of the 11th All-Russian Award “For Fidelity to Science” have been announced in Moscow. The award recognises outstanding achievements in the field of science communication, popularisation of science, and the promotion of the prestige of scientists and engineers in Russia. The TV BRICS International Media Network acted as the event’s international media partner.
The award ceremony took place at the Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya. This year, more than 2,000 projects from across the country competed for the title of best science popularisers – a record number.
The prize in the category “Digital Content Author” was personally presented by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko. The award went to Vladislav Vulfovich’s science show “Science for Everyone”, where young researchers explain complex theories to popular bloggers.
Participants and winners of the prize were greeted by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
“Breakthrough knowledge and modern technologies are the most important resources for Russia’s socio-economic development and for strengthening its sovereignty in all areas; they determine the quality of people’s lives,” read Dmitry Chernyshenko from the President’s welcome address.
Among other winners were Natalya Vedeneeva, who received the title “Science Journalist of the Year”, and academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Irina Beletskaya, who was honoured with the “Recognition” award for her outstanding contribution to the development of chemistry.
The category Digital Content Author also featured the TV BRICS production project Laboratorium, directed by Andrey Gula – a series dedicated to scientific discoveries and cutting-edge Russian innovations.
The All-Russian Award “For Fidelity to Science” has been awarded annually since 2015 and is part of the Decade of Science and Technology established by the President of Russia. This year, the organisers highlighted strong regional engagement – in addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, many applications were received from Krasnodar Territory, Tatarstan, and Novosibirsk Region.
The award is organised by the
Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, with partners including the Russian Academy of Sciences, Kurchatov Institute National Research Centre, and Lomonosov Moscow State University.
