Narendra Modi: India and UAE are partners in creating a greener and more prosperous future

The Indian Prime Minister said both countries are actively working to influence the global discourse on combating climate change

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi said, “India and the UAE are partners in creating a greener and more prosperous future and we continue to work together to influence the global discourse on climate change.” The relationship between the countries is built on several principles and their dynamism is evident in their extensive strategic partnership. This is reported by
ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

Prime Minister Modi said that climate change has become an important subject of discussions and outcomes. He hoped that Sor28 held in the UAE would give a new impetus to effective climate action and international co-operation in the process of achieving the goals of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Emphasising India-UAE climate partnership, PM Modi said the two countries have had “extremely tight cooperation” on renewable energy since 2014. India and the UAE have pledged to promote co-operation in green hydrogen, solar energy and grid connectivity.

He lauded the UAE’s investment in renewable energy projects in India and cited ample opportunities for both countries to work together on technology development, formulation of mutually beneficial policy frameworks and regulations, as well as investment in renewable infrastructure and expansion of green hydrogen capabilities.
