New airport opens in south-west Ethiopia

The launch of a new passenger service will allow convenient travelling to the southwestern part of Ethiopia

The modern infrastructure with a total area of 3,500 square metres improves passenger services and boosts tourist traffic to the region.

In March last year, the construction of five domestic airports was announced in order to expand destinations in the country. The new airports are located in Mizan Tepi Aman, Negele Borena, Yabelo and Gor Mettu (Oromia Region) and Debre Marcos (Amhara Region).

Their construction will be completed within a year. This is reported by
Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

Regarding the facilities in Axum and Kebridehara, he explained that they were still under renovation and would be inaugurated soon.
