New Brazil–Mexico deal opens market for processed bone exports
These bones serve as valuable raw material for various industries
The Brazilian and Mexican governments have finalised a sanitary agreement approving a new international certificate that enables the export of processed bones to Mexico.
According to the
official website of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, these bones serve as valuable raw material for various industries, including animal feed, gelatine, collagen, and fertiliser production, all sectors seeing growing demand in the Mexican market.
This bilateral agreement supports the sustainability of agro-industrial operations in both countries. In 2024 alone, Mexico imported over US$2.9 billion worth of agricultural products from Brazil, with key exports including soy, animal protein, coffee, and forestry products.
With this announcement, Brazil’s agribusiness sector has achieved 397 new market openings since the beginning of 2023.
