“This visit gave us the chance to touch culture, to immerse ourselves in the world of books and to feel the magic of literature – that very world of words from which, essentially, we all originate. Every stand, every pavilion we visited told its own story, and we absorbed the atmosphere, wisdom and inspiration conveyed by their creators,” said Jorge Luis Bermudez Cruz, CEO of Canal Caribe (Cuba), in an exclusive comment to the media network.

Another participant of the media tour, Mohamed Ghozzy, Editor-in-Chief of the English version of Sada El Balad (Egypt), told TV BRICS that before travelling to the Russian capital, he had been reading a book by an Egyptian author about a journey around the world, in which Moscow of the 1950s was mentioned – and now he was able to see the city himself. At the library, Ghozzy was particularly drawn to books devoted to interfaith dialogue and a copy of the Quran in Russian. According to him, this reflects the respect and goodwill of the Russian people, who are spiritually close to the nations of the East.

The delegates also shared with the media network their impressions of the tour itself. Hambali Nor Hamzeela, Head of BERNAMA TV, noted that her stay in Moscow was a true revelation. According to her, even without knowing Russian, she was able to reach Red Square easily thanks to the responsiveness and friendliness of Muscovites. In addition, this visit gave her a new perspective on the work of Russian media.

“I was not so exposed to the Russian media and how it works, but yesterday at the assembly, I could see that everybody is thinking forward and everything is quite free, and yeah, it’s moving with the world,” stressed the Head of BERNAMA TV.

In turn, Harismen, Head of the International Relations Department of TVRI, stated that cooperation with TV BRICS enables TVRI to show the Indonesian audience more about modern Russia, as well as to create joint projects highlighting life in both countries.

“Russia is always the country that supports Indonesia, and we have a very good position in the economy and socially, and also we have a good geopolitical relationship. I think I’m really enthusiastic that the Indonesian audience would like to know more about Russia and the cooperation between Indonesia and Russia,” added Harismen.

The BRICS Global Media Tour is a regular in-house project of TV BRICS aimed at establishing practical interaction among media representatives at major international and all-Russian business events. This time, heads of partner media outlets took part in the 17th Assembly of the Russian World and in the session “New Media dimension: strengthening dialogue – confidence-building”, co-organised by the media network. The forum is organised by the Russkiy Mir Foundation with the information support of TV BRICS.
