Chinese player Zeng Xingzhong and Russia’s Entrik Sterbyok currently share the lead in the Masters category of the 31st Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival, each with four points at the end of round four.
The tournament, which runs until 24 August, has attracted top-tier players from around the globe, promising high-level competition throughout, as reported by
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
The Masters section features a remarkable 415 participants, including 350 Grandmasters and 164 International Masters. Seven players are tied for third place with 3.5 points each.
In the Open Category “A”, five players are tied at the top with four points apiece. Meanwhile, in Open Category “B”, nine players share the lead on four points, with representatives from India, Azerbaijan, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Armenia all vying for the top spot.
