President of Zimbabwe receives invitation to visit Belarus
The visit was discussed during talks between the Belarusian delegation in Harare
Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko has invited his Zimbabwean counterpart, Emmerson Mnangagwa, to pay an official visit to the Republic of Belarus. This was reported by
BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS, citing the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The invitation was delivered in person by a delegation led by Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich and Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov, who held talks in Zimbabwe on 16 April. During the meetings, the parties signed documents aimed at strengthening partnership and discussed the progress of the third phase of Zimbabwe’s agricultural mechanisation using Belarusian machinery.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry emphasised the strategic nature of relations between the two countries, while Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Amon Murwira described Belarus as a partner and called for aligning new projects ahead of the president’s visit.
