Regional trade between Russia and China discussed in Harbin

The second Russia–China Conference on Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in Harbin. This was reported by
Dongbeiwang, a partner of TV BRICS.

In her speech, the Governor of China’s Heilongjiang Province, Liang Huiling, noted that the region occupies a strategic position in Northeast Asia and serves as a key hub for the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.

According to her, in recent years the province has been advancing the development of ties with Russia, drawing on its role as the Chinese side in the Council for Regional Cooperation under the Russia–China Committee for Friendship, Peace, and Development.

Liang Huiling expressed her intention to continue strengthening joint efforts with the Russian side by implementing high-level agreements. Priorities include deepening economic engagement, developing new forms and directions of trade, improving the efficiency of transport and customs procedures, and expanding humanitarian exchanges in education, healthcare, tourism, and sport.

Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov, in turn, emphasised that regional cooperation plays a significant role in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and China. He described the collaboration between the Amur Region and Heilongjiang Province as a successful example and expressed hope for further achievements.
