Relations between China and Argentina are at a high level
This was stated by the Chinese ambassador to Argentina
The China-Argentina strategic partnership has shown good momentum in recent years, Chinese Ambassador to Argentina Wang Wei said during an event organised to mark the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, as reported by BRCISLat, a partner of TV BRICS.
“Argentina and China are very far apart, but the great distance cannot prevent us from getting to know each other better and strengthening friendly relations,” said the ambassador.
China has been Argentina’s second largest trading partner for many years and the largest importer of Argentine agricultural products, he said. Bilateral trade exceeded $20 billion in 2022, up 20 per cent from a year earlier.
Argentine Deputy Foreign Minister Pablo Tettamanti noted the high level of understanding between the two states within the framework of various international organisations, in particular the Group of 77 plus China. In his speech, he also recalled that last year the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations.
Tettamanti also expressed gratitude to the PRC for supporting Argentina’s inclusion in BRICS.
