A hospital in Riyadh has successfully carried out the region’s first cochlear implant procedure using robotic arm technology, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The new method, also referred to as automatic implantation, allows surgeons to insert electrodes with high precision and stability. This significantly reduces risks during surgery and improves the chances of better hearing outcomes for patients.
Medical experts noted that the robotic arm ensures ease of control, consistent performance, and exceptional accuracy in delicate operations, marking a major step forward in surgical innovation.
