The head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Cuba recalled that although air traffic has been suspended in recent years, there are currently three weekly direct flights from Moscow to the resort of Varadero, and now citizens will be able to make a direct route Moscow-Havana.
Ambassador Coronelli emphasised that the flights are in great demand from both countries.
Garcia Granda, head of Cuban tourism, noted that Russian tourism has played a fundamental role in the industry for several years.
He added that Russia was the fourth tourist market in Cuba for several years, but has recently risen to third place, so it is important to continue to increase the number of flights from this country to develop tourism.
