Russia and Iran intend to accelerate implementation of joint projects

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. The main topics of discussion were the expansion of trade and economic cooperation and the strengthening of humanitarian ties. This is reported by
IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

As Putin noted, trade turnover between Russia and Iran continues to grow steadily. At the end of 2024, it increased by 13 per cent, and in the first half of 2025, it added another 11.4 per cent. The president sees the previously signed agreements as playing an important role in the further development of economic partnership.

The SCO summit, which began on 31 August in Tianjin, brought together the leaders of more than 20 countries in one place.
