Russia and Oman implement visa-free travel agreement for short-term visits

The two countries signed the agreement in Moscow

A bilateral agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on mutual visa exemption will officially enter into force on 18 July 2025. This is reported by the
official website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two countries signed the agreement in Moscow, marking a new step in enhancing mobility and people-to-people exchanges.

Under the terms of the agreement, citizens of the Russian Federation may enter and stay in the territory of Oman without a visa for up to 30 days per visit, provided the purpose of travel is not for permanent residence, education, or employment requiring a work permit. The total duration of stay must not exceed 90 days within a calendar year.

The same conditions will apply to citizens of Oman travelling to the Russian Federation.

The agreement reflects the growing diplomatic and economic ties between Russia and Oman and is expected to facilitate tourism, business travel, and cultural cooperation while maintaining compliance with both countries’ immigration regulations.
