Russia, China and India are working on an environmental project
Scientists from universities in the three countries are focusing on using new technologies, such as creating biochar from food waste, to improve soil quality and fertility, as reported by
TASS.
“The project is in its second year. Our goal is to solve the problem of food waste using machine learning,” said Vishnu D. Rajput, head of the nanobiotechnology laboratory at the D. I. Ivanovsky Academy of Biology and Biotechnology of the Southern Federal University (SFU). He explained that one of the key problems to be solved is the issue of food waste utilisation.
The researchers are also addressing the shortage of crop land in India and are actively exploring ways to restore soil fertility. This project is significant given that Russia, India and China make up one-third of the world’s population.
