Russia holds the III International Youth Volunteer Conference BRICS To You
This event is included in the action plan of Russia’s BRICS Chairmanship for 2024
This year about 500 young leaders from 29 countries registered to participate in the online conference. Valeria Chernogorodova, Head of the International Activities Division of the Youth Projects and Programmes Directorate of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
In her speech she noted that in Russia today more than 13 million people are engaged in volunteering, which is almost every 10th citizen of our country.
“Participants of the BRICS To You project will be able to share their experience, best practices of countries in the field of volunteering, as well as discuss and present their own projects. This is important for future work,” said Valeria Chernogorodova.
For two hours, participants and experts discussed international co-operation in this field, improving the quality of international youth events and shared their experiences.
During the conference, Zhang Lin, Deputy Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Margret Molefe (South Africa), Vice Chairperson of the South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA), and others, exchanged various ideas and initiatives in the field of volunteering.
All participants received materials on upcoming events, some of which will be included in the action plan of Russia’s BRICS Chairmanship in 2024.
