Russia sends coal to India for first time via the North-South Transport Corridor
Russia has for the first time sent two trains carrying coal to India via the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), which connects Russia to India via Iran, Russia’s national railway company said in a statement.
The trains travelled along the eastern branch of the INSTC through Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. This is reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
Construction of the INSTC began in the early 2000s, but its further development has gained momentum in light of the constraints Moscow faces.
