Russia to host Peers of Victory music festival
The event will unite music, history and memory, paying tribute to legendary bands
From 28 to 30 April on the stage of the Estrada Theatre in Moscow, the music festival “Peers of Victory” will be held, organised by the Orpheus Russian State TV and Radio Music Centre together with the Russian Music Union. TV BRICS is the international media partner of the event.
The event is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of three renowned ensembles created in 1945: the Academic Big Concert Orchestra of Y. Silantyev, the Academic Choir of Russian Song and the Nekrasov’s Academic Russian Folk Instruments Orchestra.
On the first day of the festival the Silantyev Orchestra will perform with the programme “I will fill the country with song like the wind”, which includes works by Isaak Dunayevsky, Aleksandra Pakhmutova, Eduard Artemyev, and other legendary composers.
On April 29, the Academic Choir of Russian Song, founded by People’s Artist of the USSR Nikolay Kutuzov, will present its anniversary programme “”Russki Prazdnik”. The concert will feature well-known folk songs such as “The Volga River Flows”, “Oh, You, Wide Steppe”, “The Moon is Shining”, and others.
The finale of the festival will be a performance by the Nekrasov’s Orchestra. The programme for the final evening, “And the song will echo in your heart like the echo of a living memory”, includes significant works of Russian and world classics, including the famous “Evening Bells”.
In October 2022, the Orpheus Russian State TV and Radio Music Centre and the TV BRICS International Media Network signed a cooperation agreement to jointly promote academic music, film concerts, support tours and young people, and distribute Orpheus Radio content on BRICS platforms in China, India, Brazil, South Africa, and other countries.
