Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone talks with his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa. This was stated on the official
website of the Russian President.
“They discussed issues of further development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, including in trade, economic, and investment areas,” the website reports.
It is noted that Putin also congratulated Ramaphosa and all the people of his country on the upcoming 27 April public holiday of South Africa – Freedom Day.
Last week, South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola called to deepen economic partnership with Russia. He emphasised that relations between the countries are built on historical solidarity.
