
TV BRICS will present unique media materials about the traditions and achievements of Russian ballet to the international community. Following the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre, the Moscow State Academy of Choreography – one of the world’s most prestigious choreographic educational institutions – has signed an agreement on information cooperation with the media network. The document was signed by the Rector of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, People’s Artist of Russia Svetlana Zakharova, and CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova. The partners will cooperate in order to develop the art of dance, strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties between the BRICS+ countries, and enhance Russia’s international standing.

Moscow State Academy of Choreography is a unique educational institution rightly regarded as a jewel of the national cultural heritage. Founded in 1773, the Academy has an exceptionally rich history and is one of the leading choreographic educational institutions, attracting students from all over the world. Representatives of 20 countries are currently studying and undertaking internships there. The Academy offers a multi-level educational system covering all stages of professional development. Branches of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography operate in Kemerovo, Vladivostok and Kaliningrad. The Academy’s history is inseparably linked with the names of its legendary graduates and teachers, including Sofya Golovkina, Maya Plisetskaya, Vladimir Vasilev, Ekaterina Maksimova, Igor Moiseyev, Olga Lepeshinskaya, Asaf Messerer, Natalia Bessmertnova, Mikhail Lavrovsky and Nikolay Tsiskaridze. In 2016, by decree of the President of Russia, the Moscow State Academy of Choreography was included in the State Code of Especially Valuable Properties of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation, underlining its exceptional significance for Russian and global culture.

CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova noted that media materials about Russian ballet – a symbol of national culture – not only enrich the shared BRICS agenda, but also inspire countries towards cultural rapprochement, which lies at the heart of comprehensive partnership. The media network provides information support for major humanitarian events, develops thematic content exchange, cooperates with film festivals and implements its own projects, including the TV BRICS International Symphony Orchestra and the BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Centre in Moscow.

In 2026, the media network is acting as the international media partner of the IV All-Russian Competition of Young Composers “Partitura”, which received a large number of applications in the opera and ballet music categories. In addition, with the information support of TV BRICS, the “Olympic Games of Ballet” – the XV International Ballet Competition dedicated to the outstanding choreographer and People’s Artist of the USSR Yuri Grigorovich – will take place in Moscow. The competition jury will be chaired by People’s Artist of Russia Svetlana Zakharova.
Together with the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, more than 30 state and public institutions from Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, Nepal, and Cuba are partners of the TV BRICS International Media Network in the field of education.
