Russian Energy Week to be held in Moscow from 15 to 17 October
The programme is centred around a plenary session, usually attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin
This year, the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall in Moscow will discuss the oil and gas and coal industries, the electric power industry, digital technologies, scientific and technological development of the energy industry, the climate agenda, and energy security.
The International Forum “Russian Energy Week” (REW-2025) will also focus on nuclear power, for which a stand will be set up in honour of the 80th anniversary of the industry. An exhibition of fuel and energy complex (FEC) equipment and technologies is also expected to be held in Gostiny Dvor.
The event will be preceded by a scientific and practical conference “Territory of Energy Dialogue” (TED), which is designed to create conditions for communication between the engineering complex and scientific institutions.
REW-2025 will host the Global Energy International Prize ceremony and the traditional awarding of the winners of the “Energy of the Pen” international media competition.
The programme will conclude with the Youth Day, where students of energy universities will be able to ask questions to professionals and present their initiatives.
Last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Equatorial Guinea’s leader Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo spoke at the REW plenary session. Putin emphasised that the growth of the 21st century economy will be concentrated in the BRICS countries, as well as those states seeking to join the group.
“Within the framework of cooperation with the BRICS countries, we are working on creating our own payment and settlement circuit, which will create conditions for efficient and independent servicing of all foreign trade,” Russian President said.
Later, at a personal meeting, the Equatorial Guinea leader expressed his desire for Russia to support the country in joining BRICS.
REW is held annually. It is a platform for discussing the development of the fuel and energy sector. The event is attended by representatives of the governments of various states, heads of energy companies and experts.
