Russian Federation to expand the list of countries with electronic visa access

The Russian Federation intends to expand the list of countries whose citizens will be able to receive electronic visas, the head of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Aleksey Klimov, said.

It is known that work is underway to expand the list of foreign countries whose citizens will receive a single electronic visa. The diplomat noted that it is premature to name specific countries that will be added to the list.

Klimov said that in accordance with the action plan for the implementation of the Concept of State Migration Policy of the Russian Federation in 2024-2025, it is necessary to submit a corresponding report to the government by 10 December.

The head of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that from 1 August to 31 December 2023, 170,000 e-visas were issued to citizens of 55 countries.

More than 90% of such visas were granted to residents of 10 countries (China, Estonia, Germany, Turkey, India, Saudi Arabia, Latvia, Iran, Lithuania and Italy). This is reported by
Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
