The seminar “BRICS Cooperation in Science and Technology” was held in Moscow at the Russian University Higher School of Economics (HSE), bringing together participants to discuss joint projects and ideas.

Russia’s Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Konstantin Mogilevsky, expressed confidence that BRICS will become a platform for mutually beneficial co-operation and strengthening relations between the countries.

“A vivid evidence of the reliable partnership of the BRICS countries is not only the preservation of ties, but also the deepening of co-operation,” he noted.

Within the framework of the Russian BRICS Chairmanship, more than 30 events aimed at developing co-operation in the field of science and technology have been planned. Internship and exchange programmes, expeditions and other joint activities are also being considered.

There are 13 working groups coordinating projects in various areas and more than 150 joint practical projects are planned. This is reported by the
website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The seminar participants discussed the policy and prospects of scientific and technical cooperation within the BRICS framework, emphasising the importance of such cooperation for the development of the global scientific and research agenda.
