Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin. This is reported by the official

The Russian President pointed to multi-level interaction and positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation.

He noted the growth of tourist exchange as well as close coordination between Moscow and New Delhi through international platforms – UN, BRICS, G20, and SCO. According to the Russian leader, the current meeting provides an opportunity to discuss key tasks to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in turn, emphasised that Russian-Indian relations have stood the test of time and have always been based on trust and mutual respect.
Modi highlighted that energy and high technology remain priority areas of cooperation for the two countries. He also expressed confidence that “new projects in education, science, and culture will make ties between the peoples even closer.”
Putin concluded the talks by describing decades of special, friendly, and trusting relations as the foundation for further development of cooperation.
The summit in Tianjin is the largest meeting in the history of the SCO, bringing together leaders and heads of state from more than 20 countries.
