Russian teachers are preparing the UAE national team for the International Physics Olympiad. The training programme involves 25 Emirati school students and six national team coaches. The announcement was made by Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov during a meeting with UAE Minister of Education Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri.
“The best teachers from Russia are working with them. We expect that, thanks to our joint efforts, the students will achieve strong results,” Kravtsov was quoted as saying on the ministry’s
website.
In addition to preparing for Olympiads, both sides are expanding programmes for the study of the Russian language in the UAE and the Arabic language in Russia.
During a recent
meeting in Moscow with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the high level of cooperation between the two countries in education and culture.
“Our humanitarian cooperation is at a very good level. I mean our contacts in education and culture. […] I strongly hope that this area of our cooperation will, of course, continue to develop,” the Russian president stressed.
In 2024, the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Educational Centre was opened at the E. M. Primakov Regional Gymnasium in the Moscow Region. The centre serves as a platform for Russian and international educators to exchange best educational practices, teaching methods and learning technologies.
