South Africa will today host the third G20 Sherpa meeting in Sun City in the North West.
It is expected to bring to the fore a myriad of challenges facing the globe.
One of the issues that will be discussed during the meeting this week is ‘the G20 at 20 years’, a reflection on key achievements and the way forward.
This comes as the world has been on tenterhooks following a ceasefire in the war between Iran and Israel.
International Relations and Cooperation Ambassador Xolisa Mabhongo says the United States (US) will not be part of this meeting.
Mabhongo says, “For this week, the United States have confirmed to us that they will they will not be present in the meeting. They have not foreclosed the possibility of continuing beyond this meeting this week. In a way, they are aware of what is happening in our presidency.”
