Saudi Arabia and Indonesia have signed agreements and memoranda of understanding valued at US$27 billion, covering clean energy, petrochemical industries, and aviation fuel services. The deals were concluded on 3 July 2025 during the official visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to the Kingdom, as reported by
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

According to a joint statement, the agreements reflect the strategic depth of Saudi-Indonesian relations and underscore shared ambitions to strengthen economic and technological ties. Over the past five years, bilateral trade between the two countries has reached approximately US$31.5 billion, positioning Saudi Arabia as Indonesia’s leading trading partner in the region.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to concluding a Free Trade Agreement between Indonesia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), building on positive progress achieved in negotiations held in September 2024 and February 2025.

In the energy sector, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia agreed to enhance cooperation across multiple areas, including the supply of crude oil and its derivatives, the development of petrochemical industries, and the sustainability of energy supply chains. They are also committed to advancing joint initiatives in electricity generation, renewable energy deployment, energy storage technologies, and the application of artificial intelligence within the energy domain.

The two countries also pledged joint efforts in carbon circular economy technologies and clean hydrogen development, aiming to promote sustainable and low-carbon growth.
