A new Smart Neuroscience Ward has opened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the first facility of its kind in the Middle East. It is designed to monitor patients with neurological conditions, including those with epilepsy and patients recovering from complex brain surgeries.
The ward is equipped with electromagnetic shielding to reduce interference with brain monitoring devices and allow accurate readings of neural activity. This is reported by
Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
It also supports monitoring for patients with treatment-resistant epilepsy, post-surgery care, and chronic neurological conditions, enabling data-driven treatment planning.
Protective shelters and specialised equipment have been installed to allow continuous observation and more detailed study of patient conditions.
