More than 3 million new jobs were created in Chinese cities and urban-type towns in the first quarter of 2024, as reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS, citing China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

According to the department, in March, the unemployment rate on the survey in Chinese cities and urban-type settlements was 5.2 per cent. At the same time, the employment situation remained generally stable.

The ministry noted that the Chinese authorities plan to create 12 million new jobs and maintain this year’s unemployment rate in the survey in cities and towns at about 5.5 per cent.
