Thailand boosts employment for persons with disabilities with new hiring incentives
Between 2023 and 2024, nearly 40,000 persons with disabilities secured employment
Thailand’s Ministry of Labour is intensifying efforts to expand job opportunities for persons with disabilities, urging both public and private sector employers to create stable, income-generating roles. This is reported by
Vietnam News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Under Thailand’s labour regulations, companies and government agencies with 100 or more employees must hire persons with disabilities at a mandated ratio.
Between 2023 and 2024, nearly 40,000 persons with disabilities secured employment. To accelerate this progress, the ministry has partnered with 21 major corporations to recruit an additional 2,700 individuals in 2025.
To further incentivise participation, the government is offering tax benefits. Employers hiring persons with disabilities can claim double tax deductions on wages.
