Thailand sees over 23 million international visitors in 2025

Thailand welcomed more than 23.45 million international tourists between January and September 2025, generating an estimated US$34 billion in revenue, according to official figures.

Malaysia remained the leading source market with over 101,000 visitors, followed by China (70,678) and India (44,813). This is reported by
VNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Authorities expect the growth rate to improve in the coming weeks, driven by Chinese travel demand during the October holidays and measures to ease entry procedures. Among these are the removal of customs declaration forms for travellers and incentives to expand flight capacity.

Tourism accounted for around 20 per cent of Thailand’s GDP before the pandemic, and the government has set a target of 40 million international arrivals in 2025. Officials note that the sector is on track for a robust year-end, supported by pent-up demand across Asia and continued government backing.
