Tunisian poet won a prize at Arab poetry festival

Hammami is the author of numerous poems published in several newspapers and magazines

Abdelaziz Hammami, a poet from Tunisia, received the Al Qawafi award at the 20th Sharjah Arab Poetry Festival.

The festival was held from 8 to 14 January in the UAE. Hammami is a well-known poetry writer. His works have been published in various newspapers and magazines. This is reported by
TAP, a partner of TV BRICS.

He also worked as a correspondent for the TAP news agency in Kairouan and collaborated with national radio and Tunisian television.

Hammami was born in Kairouan and was one of the founders of the first literary club in the city in the late 60s. He became the second Tunisian poet to win the award at the 20th Sharjah Arab Poetry Festival.

Earlier, his compatriot Moncef Ouhaibi had won the “Sharjah Prize for Poetic Criticism”.

A total of 12 prizes were awarded at the 20th edition of the festival, which included poets and critics from different Arab countries.
